In
the central of China Hubei province, Wuhan 武汉
city is divided by the Yangtze and Han rivers into 3 towns (武汉三镇):
HanYang “ Industrial area “ mainly heavy car industry, HanKou 汉口
“ commercial town which is the CBD of WuHan, WuChang 武昌
where is the biggest undergraduate students population in the world as more
than 100 universities, colleges and schools because of that WuHan is known for
the city of 2 million students.
Among
those universities is WuHan University 武汉大学
or WuDa “ short name “ one of China top ten prestigious universities and one of
the oldest was established in 1893 in the late Qing Dynasty 大清
. Wuhan University has a long history and its name was change several times due
to China’s historical Interval. In the Sino-Japanese war the campus was
evacuated and moved to Leshan 乐山市 in
SiChuan another province till the war was end because of Japanese occupied the
mountain “ campus today “. WuDa campus is the most beautiful campus in Asia
which is located on Luojia hill. The beautiful campus heavily wooded and green
where you enjoy seeing Luojia mountain and it’s blossom season , East lake 东湖
is a well known lake in China, historical buildings and the famous gate of
WuDa.
I
had spent 8 years of my life in that picturesque campus. I had a habit where I
had spent my whole nights in 602 lab at Computer School which is located in the
side of WuDa main gate. When Dawn appears, I had to walk back to my
accommodation in another side of campus close to DongHu gate. At 4:00 am,
everything is quiet while little air current was carrying cherry’s fragments
from Luojia mountain where fresh air and scents taking all stress caused by PhD
journey of theorems into proofs. Down from LuoJia to East Lake DongHu gate,
Where the most beautiful sunrise you could wait for. The East Lake calm waters
go beyond far mountains. One boat in the middle of that wide lake was a like
landmark in the fresh water. Walking beside the lake or making excercise is
very common.
After
spending good time with nature, back to my accommodation, I could not resist
the taste of Dry Noodles 热干面
RaGanMian which is very famous as WuHan traditional breakfast dish contains soy
sauce, sesame paste, pickled vegetables (carrots and beans), chopped garlic
chives and chili oil. You May add one tea egg to give more proteins.
When
I remember those memories when every March, the campus has hundreds thousands
tourists from China and Asia to enjoy the cherry blossom season. However, this
year due to Covid19. The campus is lockdown and cherry blossom seems to be in
quarantine too.
In
this Corona holiday, I received beautiful 3 books are authored by my Prof.Zhu
FuXi. Where the new covers of his AI books published by Tsinghua University are
a piece of art same as WuDa campus.
I
wish all my professors , lab mates , teachers and WuDa to be free soon, wealthy
and healthy.
