The owner of the website Brian
Connelly often uses the domain to target celebrities and political figures that
he is not a fan of. He chose his most recent victim as Mr Trump continues to
refuse to concede defeat in the US 2020 election.
Previous targets of loser.com
have been former president Barack Obama, Charlie Sheen, Reddit, Kanye West, Al
Gore, and former South Carolina governor Jim Hodges. He has also previously
tageted Mr Trump in 2015.
Mr Connelly told The Next Web
that he previously targeted Mr Trump in 2015 because he was a “xenophobe”.
“My wife and I were
flabbergasted about Trump's attacks on Muslims. Fear is just not a good
platform to stand up on,” he said.
This is not the first time Mr
Trump has been at the receiving end of something similar.
Over the weekend, social media
users who typed the word “loser” into Twitter’s search engine were directed to
Mr Trump’s Twitter profile.
The site told the Mirror that
the link was not an intentional move by the social media platform.
“If an account is mentioned
often alongside certain terms, they can become algorithmically surfaced
together as an association," said Twitter.
"These associations are
temporal and ever changing based on how people tweet."
Meanwhile, a Tik Tok trend
emerged in the wake of the US Presidential election, as people sought to
disrupt Mr Trump’s baseless claims that his victory had been stolen.
Users were encouraging each
other to prank call the president’s “voter fraud hotline”.
Sources told ABC News that staff
manning the hotline were overwhelmed with callers ringing in to crow over Joe
Biden’s win, before hanging up.
